Mountain West Conference Logos and Brands
Twelve universities in the American West, from Boise to San Jose, compete in the Mountain West Conference (MWC) Mountain West division. Boise State, with its blue Albertsons Stadium field, San Diego State, Air Force Academy, and Colorado State compete in NCAA Division I in football, basketball, and other disciplines. The conference emblem and the logos of the participating universities reflect the region’s mountainous landscape, where the Rocky Mountains form the association’s geographical core. Founded in 1999 after the restructuring of the WAC, the MWC has carved out a niche as a strong second-tier conference that regularly sends teams to major bowl games and the NCAA’s March Madness.
