Mid-American Conference Logos and Brands
Twelve universities from Ohio, Michigan, Indiana, Illinois, and New York form the Mid-American Conference (MAC), whose athletic identity is represented in the section of the same name. Kent State, Western Michigan, Ohio University, Ball State, and Bowling Green compete in football, basketball, and other NCAA Division I disciplines. The MAC emblem and the participating universities’ logos reflect the regional flavor of the industrial Midwest. Founded in 1946, the conference occupies a niche between the Big Ten giants and smaller conferences, and the section traces the visual identity of an association that has produced professional sports stars such as Ben Roethlisberger, Khalil Mack, and others.
