NFC Logos and Brands
The National Football Conference unites half of all NFL clubs, and the “NFC” section brings together the conference’s teams and structural divisions in one place. The NFC has been around since 1970, when the AFL and NFL merged, and has since become one of the two pillars of professional American football. NFC club logos feature regional references, histories of long-standing rivalries, and symbols rooted in the cultures of the cities where the franchises are based. An analysis of the conference’s emblems provides insight into how sports identity has changed alongside the league’s development over more than half a century.
