Shanghai Logos and Brands
China’s largest metropolis and one of Asia’s major financial centers serves as the geographic reference point for the “Shanghai” section. The Shanghai Port and Shanghai Shenhua football clubs, the SSE stock exchange, Shanghai Airlines, and numerous city institutions use images of the Waitan waterfront, the Oriental Pearl Tower, and the Pudong skyscrapers in their logos. Shanghai has historically served as China’s gateway to world trade, and the visual identity of local brands reflects the city’s cosmopolitanism, where colonial concession architecture coexists with the futuristic skyline of the business district. The brands in this section represent a metropolis with a population of over 25 million, whose economy is comparable to that of an average European country.
