Taxify Logos and Brands
Estonian startup Taxify, renamed Bolt in 2019, defines the content of the “Taxify” section. Founded in 2013 in Tallinn by Markus Villig, the company started as a taxi-hailing platform for the Baltic countries and Africa. It later expanded into a global mobility service offering rides, food delivery, and electric scooter rentals. The Taxify logo with a green lightning bolt was the predecessor to the current Bolt logo, and the section can capture both the historical brand and the company’s early days. Bolt has grown into one of Uber’s biggest European competitors, and the visual history of its transformation from Taxify to Bolt illustrates the rebranding that accompanied the transition from a niche startup to a multi-billion-dollar platform.
