Verizon Logos and Brands
American telecommunications giant Verizon Communications, serving more than 140 million subscribers, defines the content of this section. Formed in 2000 through the merger of Bell Atlantic and GTE, the company inherited the Bell system infrastructure and built one of the largest 4G/5G networks in the United States. The checkmark logo, introduced after the 2015 rebrand, replaced the previous logo featuring a red letter “Z” and stripes. In addition to mobile communications, Verizon owned the media assets of AOL and Yahoo (combined into Verizon Media, later sold), and this section captures the visual history of a company whose brand is present in the daily lives of more than a third of the American population through smartphones, home internet, and corporate communications.
