Bomann is a German company recognized for manufacturing an extensive range of small and major household appliances. The company’s inception dates back to 1921 when it was founded by Theodor Baumann in Nuremberg, Germany, with its initial product line comprising electric irons.

As the 20th century unfolded, Bomann broadened its manufacturing scope to include other kitchen appliances, such as refrigerators, ovens, dishwashers, and smaller appliances like mixers and toasters. Bomann’s products are engineered with affordability and reliability, targeting the mass consumer market without necessarily focusing on groundbreaking innovations.

In many German households, Bomann products are commonplace, including refrigerators, freezers, gas, electric cookers, and various small kitchen electrical appliances. However, Bomann relocated its production facilities from Germany to Poland and China during the 1990s to reduce manufacturing costs.

Bomann became a part of the Turkish conglomerate Arçelik in 2002, yet it continues to operate as an independent subsidiary under Arçelik’s management. Around 300 employees work for Bomann in Germany, handling sales, marketing, logistics, and after-sales services for the brand.

Recently, Bomann has faced a challenging market scenario due to intense competition from other prominent brands in the German appliance industry, such as Bosch and Siemens. Despite these challenges and a reduction in its former scale, Bomann appliances continue to hold their ground in big-box and department stores across Europe, offering an affordable alternative to premium brands.
