The British car brand Lanchester Motor Company was founded in 1895 by Frederick William Lanchester in Birmingham, UK. It left a significant mark on the history of the automobile industry as one of the first companies to see the automobile not only as a technical means but also as an object of art, an effective way to demonstrate style, beauty, and perfection. The merger of the brand with Daimler-Benz in 1931 enabled production expansion. However, in 1955, the brand was acquired by Jaguar Cars, and in 2008, the Indian Tata Motors became its owner.
Lancia Automobiles S.p.A.
The Italian automobile industry occupies a leading position worldwide. A prominent example is the automobile brand Lancia, founded in 1906 by Vincenzo Lancia, an Italian racer, and his partner Claudio Foggolin in Turin, Italy. The company released its first car, the Lancia 18-24 HP, a year later, which would later become known as the Alpha. Since then, the model lines have been called by letters of the Greek alphabet. Land Rover

Laurin & Klement
Czech automobile manufacturer Laurin & Klement, founded in 1895 by Václav Laurin and Václav Klement, was one of the most famous brands in Mladá Boleslav, Austria-Hungary. The company began producing Slavia bicycles and motorcycles. The first automobile, the Voiturette Type A, appeared in 1905. The development of four new successful models led to the creation of the most popular model, B. Until 1909, several variants of the Laurin & Klement F body were produced: phaeton, limousine, van, Lando, omnibus, and ambulance. In 1912, the RAF factory was bought. After the war, the Model S entered production. A 1924 fire was one of the reasons for the brand’s collapse; it was later acquired by Akciová společnost, dříve Škodovy závody v Plzni, now Škoda Holding.
Lea-Francis
The British automobile brand Lea-Francis began its career in 1895, manufacturing bicycles and motorcycles in Coventry. The first cars were produced under license from the Singer brand. But in 1919, it opened a line to design and assemble its cars, assembled from components from different manufacturers. Among its models was the Hyper Supercharged Ace of Spades. In 1925, the brand began producing sports models. In 1939, the plant switched to military orders. Car production resumed in 1946. In 1954, production was stopped.
Leblanc
Swiss automobile manufacturer Leblanc, based in Zurich, first made its mark in 1999 by producing a racing sports car for the 24 Hours of Le Mans. It had a closed construction and a boosted engine. This model was the young brand’s first statement of its ambition to join the ranks of American manufacturers of limited-edition racing cars. The Leblanc Caroline and, later, the Leblanc Mirabeau for open-street racing were fully certified and became legal competition models.
Lexus

Lloyd Cars is a small British brand famous for using only its components. Founded in 1936 by Roland Lloyd, the company existed until 1951. During this time, it developed two models that went into production. One before and the other after the Second World War. Lobini

Locomobile Company of America
Locomobile Company of America is, as its name suggests, an American automobile manufacturer. It was founded in 1899 to produce self-propelled, steam-powered automobiles. Production began in Watertown, Massachusetts, from where the company moved to Bridgeport, Connecticut, in 1900. In 1903, the company began production of vehicles with internal combustion engines, among which the Locomobile Model 48 stands out for its qualities. The company sought to create affordable cars by using smaller equipment. In 1922, the brand was bought by Durant Motors.
Lola Cars
The company, founded in 1961 in the Netherlands, was established by Eric Broadley to develop its automotive business. Today, it is based in the British town of Huntingdon and specializes in designing and producing sports and racing cars. Starting with small Formula Junior models, the brand expanded into modified production cars, whose participation was required in various sports series. In 2005, the A1 racing series began. In 1998, the company was acquired by Martin Birran.
Loremo
German automobile manufacturer Loremo was known for its prototypes, which were designed to achieve low weight, low fuel consumption, and minimal aerodynamic drag. The 2006 modification to the Loremo LS helped ensure the brand’s popularity. The company, founded in 2000 in Marl (Germany), got its name from Low Resistance Mobile. The project was engaged in producing economical, light-duty vehicles whose configuration provided low aerodynamic resistance. The manufacturer’s task was to create models oriented to the markets of China and India.
Lotec
Lotec was founded in 1962 by Kurt Lotterschmid in Kolbermoor, Germany. Since 1969, it has produced racing cars; since 1975, it has modified Porsche models; since 1983, it has improved the aerodynamic properties of Mercedes-Benz and Ferrari cars. Lucid Motors produces cars based on modern technologies. The American brand has been located in Newark, California, since 2007. The basis of production was the development of premium sedans on electric traction. The most famous model was the Lucid Air. The brand was financed by the Chinese company Tsinghua Holdings. The first serial product saw the light of day in 2014. It was the Atieva Atvus, a Lucid Air modification. In the future, the brand plans to start producing batteries for its cars.
Luxgen Motor Co.
