The RCC MCA logo reflects the Institute of Information Technology’s main specialization. The emblem also conveys the essence of India, manifested in the characteristic color palette and lines typical of this country’s culture. Due to the harmonious combination of the old and the modern, the logo appears unique.
RCC Institute of Information Technology was founded in Kolkata, India, in 1999 with approval from the All India Council for Technical Education. Undergraduate engineering and technology programs began in 2000, initially covering computer science and electronics. It also opened computer labs and a library.
By 2003, the curriculum had expanded into additional information technology fields, and the Master of Computer Applications program became one of its main postgraduate courses. Affiliation with West Bengal University of Technology followed in 2005, alongside a new academic building, upgraded laboratories, and a broader range of programs.
Research capacity grew from 2008 through centers in computer science and electronics, while partnerships with technology companies created internship opportunities. International cooperation increased in 2010 through accreditations, faculty exchanges, and student programs with overseas universities. New postgraduate courses, conferences, and seminars followed in 2012.
By 2015, the campus included robotics and artificial intelligence laboratories. From 2016 to 2018, the institute expanded its teaching methods, specializations, and research facilities. The institute revised the curriculum again in 2020, adding courses in big data, cybersecurity, and cloud computing. During 2021 and 2022, the institute added industry partnerships and internship routes. By 2023, it continued developing technical programs and research around current needs in India’s IT sector.

What is RCC MCA?
This is an educational program preparing computer technology professionals. It offers students in-depth training in programming, software development, database administration, and modern technologies like artificial intelligence, cloud computing, and cybersecurity. The program includes practical sessions, work on real-world projects, and participation in competitions, helping students develop skills in demand in the tech sector. 1999 – today
The RCC MCA emblem is multi-structured and multi-dimensional, featuring numerous elements that immediately identify the institution’s educational focus. It is designed in a geometric style and consists of shapes arranged to resemble separate building structures representing the institute.
A large satellite dish at the top of the logo, set against a globe, symbolizes modern technology. The globe is divided into two halves: one with meridians and parallels (on the right) and one without them (on the left). The globe represents worldwide accessibility to information.
Although the emblem lacks direct text, it is cleverly hidden in the details. Specifically, two rectangular elements are at the bottom, resembling the lowercase letters “i” (Institute of Information). The first block is filled with blue, while the second is outlined in white with several blue stripes.
Below is a text in Hindi, the institution’s slogan, which translates to “Nothing can be achieved without hard work.” The text is written neatly, with thin characters, and placed in a single line.
The cubism-style emblem resembles the uppercase letter “R” formed from small elements related to the “Regional Computer Centre Institute of Information Technology”. Red stripes serve as striking accents. The upper stripe is a square bracket, while the lower stripe resembles an observation deck with a diagonal slope.
