The RCC MCA logo reflects the Institute of Information Technology’s main specialization. The RCC Institute of Information Technology was established in Kolkata, India, in 1999. The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) approved the institution to provide high-quality technical education.
In 2000, the institute began offering undergraduate programs in engineering and technology. Initial courses included computer science and electronics. That same year, basic facilities such as computer labs and a library were set up.
By 2003, it had expanded its curriculum to include new specializations in information technology. It also introduced the Master of Computer Applications (MCA) program, which became one of its flagship offerings.
In 2005, the institution affiliated with West Bengal University of Technology enhanced the value of its degrees and expanded its academic programs. A new academic building was inaugurated, and laboratory facilities were upgraded.

In 2012, 2,012 new post-diploma programs were introduced, and research activities were expanded. The institute started hosting international conferences and seminars focused on information technology.
By 2015, it had become one of the leading technical institutions in the region. Infrastructure modernization included establishing advanced laboratories for robotics and artificial intelligence research.
Between 2016 and 2018, educational offerings were enhanced through the adoption of modern teaching technologies and the expansion of specializations. New research facilities and labs were also introduced during this period.
By 2020, the curriculum was updated to align with the needs of the contemporary IT industry. New courses in big data, cybersecurity, and cloud computing were added, reflecting the latest industry trends.
Between 2021 and 2022, the institute continued its growth by focusing on advanced research and innovative teaching methodologies. Opportunities for student internships were expanded, and new collaborations with technology companies were established.

What is RCC MCA?
This is an educational program preparing computer technology professionals. The RCC MCA emblem is multi-structured and multi-dimensional, featuring numerous elements that immediately identify the institution’s educational focus. It is designed in a geometric style and consists of shapes arranged to resemble separate building structures representing the institute.
A large satellite dish at the top of the logo, set against a globe, symbolizes modern technology. The globe is divided into two halves: one with meridians and parallels (on the right) and one without them (on the left). The globe represents worldwide accessibility to information.
Although the emblem lacks direct text, it is cleverly hidden in the details. Specifically, two rectangular elements are at the bottom, resembling the lowercase letters “i” (Institute of Information). The first block is filled with blue, while the second is outlined in white with several blue stripes.
Below is a text in Hindi, the institution’s slogan, which translates to “Nothing can be achieved without hard work.” The text is written neatly, with thin characters, and placed in a single line.
The cubism-style emblem resembles the uppercase letter “R” formed from small elements related to the “Regional Computer Centre Institute of Information Technology”. Red stripes serve as striking accents. The upper stripe is a square bracket, while the lower stripe resembles an observation deck with a diagonal slope.
