French company Asmodee, a market leader in board games with a long history and numerous hit titles in its portfolio, has unveiled a new logo and brand identity developed by the agency Carré Noir, part of the Publicis group. Known for popular games such as Ticket to Ride, CATAN, Dobble, and 7 Wonders, the company has long established itself as a key player in the industry. Now, the company aims to become more recognizable.
The previous company logo featured a simple textual name against a background of brightly colored cards. Although easy to perceive, it blended in among other brands and didn’t communicate who was behind these beloved games. The new logo addresses this challenge differently: it has become bold, vibrant, and memorable. The choice of a heavy typeface with smooth lines and a dynamic tilt adds expressiveness and evokes the fun and emotions inherent in board games.
The slogan “Inspired by Players” emphasizes the central role of the gaming community in shaping the brand. The company aims to get closer to the people for whom its games are created, an idea that runs through the entire new strategy. Addressing players directly makes the brand friendly and emotional, compared to the neutral and impersonal perception it had before.
Carré Noir proposed creating a distinctive frame resembling a playing card, which has become the key visual element of the new identity. This effectively connects Asmodee’s visual language to its core product line, card and board games.
Visually, the new brand has become clearer and more expressive while retaining a playful atmosphere. It appears informal, lighthearted, and fun, reflecting the spirit of friendly game nights. Additionally, the logo remains recognizable even in its black-and-white version, standing out clearly on any surface, including game boxes, digital advertising, or corporate materials.
With this rebranding, Asmodee reaches a new level of interaction with players, aiming to become not just a game manufacturer but a genuine companion and partner in the entertainment world. By bringing together more than 20 game studios and over 400 popular game titles, the company continues to drive the industry forward, creating new experiences for millions of fans worldwide.
Recently, Asmodee became a publicly traded company, underscoring its scale and seriousness of intent. The refreshed brand image highlights the company’s confidence and demonstrates its readiness for continued growth, while preserving closeness and openness toward its players.
