The brand name “Dominion” was set in “Futura Extra Bold.” The inscription was rendered in a restrained gray-brown, emphasizing the company’s solidity and reliability in the energy and utility services sector.
The main focus was the symbol placed to the left of the name. It was a figure resembling a cropped blue oval, with a white human hand in the center and an extended index finger. The finger points to the upper right part of the figure, where a point of contact with something is marked, and bright white rays radiate from it. These rays visually divide the oval’s interior into several sections, creating the impression of light emanating from a single point.

In February 2017, “Dominion Resources” officially changed its name to “Dominion Energy.” This happened against the background of internal changes. The updated “Dominion Energy” logo, developed by the respected New York agency “Chermayeff & Geismar & Haviv,” debuted on February 6, 2017. It consisted of two simple elements. On the left was a bright blue symbol, whose silhouette resembled the uppercase letter “D,” although without its usual letterform. Three white stripes crossing it diagonally created a sense of movement and volume, dividing the figure into distinct segments.
On the right, the name “Dominion Energy” was written in a black sans-serif typeface across two lines. The first line reads “Dominion,” while the second contains the word “Energy.” The typography follows the tradition of fonts such as “Helvetica Bold” or “Gotham Bold.” The letters are lowercase, except for the initial “D” and “E,” which mark the beginning of each word.
