The Elavon logo represents a bridge or path connecting companies with their customers and opening global opportunities for financial transactions. The symbol conveys a forward-looking vision and the versatility and flexibility of the brand’s solutions.

Elavon: Brand overview

Elavon traces its origins to 1991, when Edward Grzedzinski founded NOVA Information Systems in Atlanta. The company focused on credit card processing and electronic payments for small and mid-sized businesses. In its first years, NOVA expanded across the region, investing in processing infrastructure and forming partnerships with financial institutions to strengthen its technical base and service range.

A turning point came in 1995, when US Bancorp acquired the business. With access to broader resources, NOVA accelerated domestic growth and began building an international presence. In the late 1990s, it pursued acquisitions and partnerships, expanded its client base among smaller enterprises, and introduced new technologies to improve transaction speed and security. The 2004 acquisition of euroConex marked the entry into Europe, followed by offices in the UK, Ireland, and other markets.

In 2008, the company adopted the name Elavon, signaling its intention to operate under a single global identity. Over the next decade, it expanded through targeted deals while investing in e-commerce, mobile payments, and contactless technologies. From 2020 onward, Elavon focused on digital transformation, upgrading processing systems, and enhancing omnichannel capabilities. By 2024, it continued developing advanced payment technologies, including work with blockchain and artificial intelligence, as it extended its international reach.

The emblem includes the company name and two intersecting arcs at the top. The name Elavon represents a partial portmanteau. The initial segment “El” refers to electronic payments, while “Avon” is a reversal of “NOVA,” the name of the company that manages the system. Initially, the brand was called EuroConex. Later, after the full acquisition of Nova Corporation, the payment system was merged with NOVA Information Systems, and the new entity was named Elavon.

The two arcs convey multiple meanings:

  • Protection: The company provides transaction software and payment security tools. Its dome-like structure evokes a sense of coverage, protecting clients’ and businesses’ financial operations.
  • Connection: Each line represents the connection between brands and customers, illustrating the flow of information between them.
  • Diversity: The lines originate from different points, symbolizing technological solutions for various payment methods, including bank cards, digital currencies, and electronic wallets.
  • Global Reach: The shapes evoke a globe, highlighting the international scope of the payment system and facilitating transactions across long distances.

The blue and light blue shades evoke associations with the technology sector and financial processes.

The logo’s core concept remains unchanged, but its visual design has been updated. The font is now modern and sans-serif, making it easier to read and emphasizing the ease of using the company’s products.

The arcs have been given richer tones, making the image more expressive. The adjusted tilt enhances the sense of movement, highlighting the increased transaction processing speed following the company’s expansion and the implementation of new technologies.

2026 – today

Elavon Logo

Elavon has introduced a new logo that signals its connection to US Bank while emphasizing the brand’s independence in the digital payment products space. The symbolic part of the new mark consists of two identical dark blue elements positioned with their narrow sides facing one another.

The creation of this symbol reflects Elavon’s intention to visually align its identity with that of its parent company while preserving recognition for both. The key reference is the red, vertically oriented shield from the US Bank logo. In Elavon’s version, the shield is split into two parts that face each other. This interpretation conveys themes of partnership, connection, and seamless payment flow.

The wordmark is set in lowercase letters using a geometric grotesque typeface. The font is close in style to well-known contemporary families such as Avenir, Gotham, and Proxima Nova.

A central aspect of the update was the desire to reinforce perceptions of reliability, expertise, and ease of use. The symbol conveys the idea of interaction and the union of two sides. As a result, Elavon has received a refreshed and considered brand identity that demonstrates its affiliation with the US Bank group while maintaining visual distinction and independence.
