The Jardín del Edén logo conveys the harmony and beauty of nature at the project’s core. The symbol invites people into a space where inspiration and nature come together, creating an atmosphere of comfort and tranquility. The brand was born of the idea of providing a place for relaxation and connection with nature, and the emblem reflects a careful approach to the environment and a desire to foster a sense of unity with it.
Jardín del Edén began in Tamarindo, Costa Rica, in the early 1990s, when a group of business owners purchased land for a small upscale hotel focused on personal service rather than the scale of large tourist resorts. Construction started in 1994. The original plan included a main building with 20 rooms and a central swimming pool.
The hotel welcomed its first guests in 1996. Accommodation was modest at first, yet the location and attentive service defined its early identity. La Plumeria restaurant opened in the same year. During the early 2000s, the first major renovation added 35 individually designed rooms and enlarged the private garden leading toward the coast.
From 2005 to 2008, the property expanded La Plumeria, added a bar, another pool, and wellness areas, while gradually adopting an adults-only format. A second renovation was completed in 2010, bringing the total to 46 rooms. The hotel replaced furniture, upgraded air conditioning, and designed interiors around regional references and natural motifs. Between 2015 and 2017, La Plumeria added a larger kitchen and revised its menu to focus on local ingredients and Costa Rican dishes, while breakfast and dinner became part of guest packages.
By 2020, the hotel updated its rooms and public areas again. The hotel added yoga, sound therapy, and spa programs. In 2023, Jardín del Edén continued operating as an adults-only boutique hotel, with services organized around its ocean views, tropical gardens, restaurant, and wellness facilities.
