1971 – 1976

The design is circular. At the center is the profile of a Viking depicted in a restrained, almost monumental style. The facial features are emphasized by angular lines defining the cheekbones, chin, and nose. The gaze is directed to the side.
The main accent is the helmet with large triangular points facing upward. It forms a recognizable silhouette and refers to northern warrior traditions. The image combines cold restraint and calm power.
At the bottom of the circle is the word NORSEMEN, inscribed along an arc. The font is large, geometric, with even lines and an outline.

The right side of the word transitions into the image of a dragon’s head. It resembles carved decorations found on the prows of ancient drakkar ships. The composition still centers on the word NORSE, written in large white letters with a black outline. The letters have sharp angles and solid proportions. Above them is the abbreviation NKU in yellow.
Below the text is a Viking helmet with curved horns. It represents bravery and a warrior spirit. The lines are simple, the form balanced, and the yellow color contrasts with black and white, creating visual tension. On both sides of the helmet, crossed swords point outward.
The yellow adds energy, the black emphasizes weight, and the white unites all the elements into a cohesive whole. Rickabaugh Graphics created the design. Their approach preserved the connection to Norse mythology while expressing the competitive spirit in a modern visual form.
