mobile network operator Logos and Brands
Mobile network operators that have their own spectrum licenses and physical tower infrastructure are listed in the “Mobile Network Operator” (MNO) section. Vodafone, with a presence in 21 countries; Carlos Slim’s América Móvil in Latin America; SoftBank in Japan; and Reliance Jio, which turned the Indian market upside down with free 4G in 2016, represent different models of network operation. Unlike mobile virtual network operators (MVNOs), which lease infrastructure from others, MNOs invest tens of billions in building and upgrading networks. The logos in this section mark companies that own mobile internet “pipes,” and the sign on the base station tower indicates who owns physical access to the airwaves.
