Philip Morris Logos and Brands
The world’s largest tobacco corporation by international sales, Philip Morris International (PMI), is headquartered in the Philip Morris section. Marlboro, the best-selling cigarette brand on the planet, remains the flagship of the portfolio alongside L&M, Chesterfield, and Parliament. A strategic shift toward smoke-free products led to the creation of IQOS (a tobacco-heating system) sold in more than 70 countries, and to the acquisition of Swedish Match (a snus manufacturer) for $16 billion. The split from Altria Group in 2008 divided the domestic (Altria, USA) and international (PMI) businesses. The section documents the visual transformation of a company that proclaims its goal of a “world without cigarettes” while selling 600 billion cigarettes annually.
