Uniqode began as a Beaconstac platform, offering QR-code-based technologies and digital business cards for large brands and companies. Their task was to transform familiar QR codes from a simple technical tool into an important marketing and customer interaction element. Using the platform, brands could better connect the physical world with the digital, making this transition straightforward.
The company’s initial logo was, to put it mildly, uninspiring. Its symbol resembled a fan turbine combined with aggressive and coarse lettering, which did not quite reflect the essence of the service. Beaconstac needed a fresher image and a clearer name to convey its idea to partners.
The brand gained clarity with the new name Uniqode and logo by the Koto studio. The new symbol looks like a neat ornament composed of digital strokes. According to the designers’ idea, it reflects the merging of physical and digital realities, resembling threads stitched through fabric. Although the graphic is abstract, it can be perceived as decorative tiles or pixel embroidery, creating pleasant associations with digital technology and traditional craftsmanship.
The name is written in simple letters, with only “Q” neatly highlighted by a thin stroke. This helps emphasize the uniqueness of the new brand, though the font appears neutral against the expressive graphic ornament.
Bright blue became the primary color of the new system. The shade emphasizes the technological nature of the service, associating it with reliability and contemporary digital solutions. Combined with the pixel-based Uniqode Sans font used in communications, this color creates a cohesive image highlighting the company’s specialization. The font looks interesting and remains easily readable even at smaller sizes, without losing clarity.
Uniqode focuses on clarity and practicality, encouraging companies to view QR codes not as isolated technical elements, but as tools connecting physical and digital experiences. The updated visual identity helps convey this idea better to partners, giving the technological product a more appealing and user-friendly look.
