Among Us is a multiplayer cross-platform game developed and published by Innersloth studio in the USA. Its direct creators are Marcus Bromander (designer), Forest Willard (programmer), Amy Liu (artist). They presented the fascinating world of deduction, where you need to learn and discover everything with your mind. The initial year of the emergence of an online game was 2018. Then it was released for iOS, Android, and Windows: for the first two platforms – in the summer, for the third – in the fall. Then in 2020, Among Us appeared on the Nintendo Switch, and by the end of 2021, it will be available on most versions of the Xbox console (One, Series X, and S).

Meaning and History

Among Us Logo History
Evolution of the Among Us Logo

The video game was inspired by the classic Mafia and the sci-fi movie The Thing. Parts were added gradually: the first was The Skeld, the last was The Airship. Immediately after launching in 2018, the game did not receive enough attention. It appeared two years later – in 2020. The influx of popularity was facilitated by users of the YouTube channel, Twitch streamers, and, oddly enough, the COVID-19 pandemic.

After that, there and then began to widen positive responses from critics who praised Among Us for the setting and gameplay. There was also criticism – it is associated with technical imperfections. In response, game-based products began to appear: T-shirts, toys, shirts, etc. Also, many Internet memes arose, which, in turn, influenced the game’s high popularity.

The action takes place in space. Each player is assigned one of two roles – a bad or a good character. Most are crew members; the rest are impostors. Gamers’ goal is to identify strangers, remove them and do the tasks prescribed on the map. The impostors plan to secretly sabotage and eliminate team members before they have time to complete all the tasks. Players suspected of being impostors are expelled from the team by a majority vote of their teammates. Moreover, the heroes are important for identity because only they are depicted on the logo.

The graphic represents the character in the game. According to the rules, he can be a member of the team and a disguised impostor. They are wearing a protective suit and a spacesuit. On the back is a breathing oxygen cylinder. These elements are not detailed and not realistic – they are depicted schematically, as if in outline. The character on the logo consists of three geometric shapes outlined along the edge with a thick black line.

Among Us Symbol

The largest oval forms the body – it is placed vertically. The small oval forms the viewing window of the spacesuit – it is located horizontally. The middle semi-oval is on the back and replaces the backpack with a balloon. The glass that hides the face has a specific reflection: it is blue below, then blue, and above it is white, which creates the impression of a slight flare. The costume is bright and consists of a combination of cherry and red.

In addition, there is a text symbolism – the name of the game. But it can also be counted among the drawn elements because the font is personal, and the first letter resembles the game’s hero in shape. “A” is made in the form of a man in a spacesuit, protective suit, and with an oxygen tank on his back. The differences between them are in monochrome (the letter version is black and white), in the presence of legs, and in flat sight glass (it is convex in the icon).

The rest of the signs are elongated, thin as if written in a bold felt-tip pen. In parallel, there is another version of the name – with white letters outlined along the contour with a thin line. Everything else in them is completely the same.

Font and Colors of the Emblem

Although the lettering is personalized, it matches several typefaces with slight modifications: Amatic SC by Vernon Adams, In Your Face Joffrey by Reema Chhabra, and Mix Giants by Mix Fonts.

The corporate colors on the graphic emblem are saturated: burgundy, red, blue, light blue, white, and black. But the text part is monochrome: it consists only of black and white.
