Meaning and History

The original foundation was focused on the PlayStation, but after gamers and critics’ approval, versions appeared adapted for other playgrounds: Game Boy Advance, Xbox One, Nintendo. Options for mobile phones, Android, iOS, and browsers have also been proposed.

The video game’s essence is that the main character and his friends (Sora, Riku, Kairi) visit different worlds that exist in parallel in a common multiverse. There they interact with cartoon characters from Disney, Pixar, and Square Enix and entities from games and works. The main scenario revolves around the confrontation with the villain Xehanort. This plot can be seen in all releases, and its style is reflected in the logo. Moreover, it is one – common for the entire series.

What is Kingdom Hearts?

Kingdom Hearts is a media franchise based on the Japanese Action / RPG series, the first of which was released in 2002 on the PlayStation 2. Its storyline and characters have inspired novels, manga, books, compilations of music, and collectible card games.

The key element of the logo is the heart, which serves as the background for the rest. It is specially used in decor because it captures the essence of Kingdom Hearts. Everyone has a heart in the game. Thanks to him, the characters experience experiences and emotions, and when they lose them, they become Heartless. Entities that do not have a heart begin to steal it from others, creating similar ones. The game also has Nobody: they can retain a human appearance. According to the script, these characters regain their hearts, being reborn as a person.

The worlds also have hearts, so negative actors try to capture them, take them away. In this case, the main characters come to the rescue, who are obliged to protect the world from enemies with the help of a special weapon that looks like a key and a sword at the same time. All the hearts they have won go to Kingdom Hearts and become part of it as a separate world.

The main detail of the logo is a heart decorated with curly curls located at the top. Above it are the words “Disney” and “Square Enix.” They represent the developers, publishers, and owners of the video collection. The names are separated by a small black key – the one designed to fight enemies and free hearts. Only with it can you destroy Heartless.

Below is a three-pointed crown stylized as a metal one. It is voluminous, convex, that is, with a 3D effect. But at the same time, the symbol of monarchical power is distinguished by grace, harmoniously combined with simplicity. Two miniature gaps are visible at the bottom between the sharp teeth.

The next important element of the logo is the name. A large inscription is placed horizontally in the center and runs throughout the heart as if piercing it. The letters are hand-drawn, with sharp ends that protrude in all directions. Moreover, among them, there is not a single repeating sign – absolutely all symbols are different. They have a charcoal background inside. The same dark stripe runs along the contour of each letter with a triple edging – in the form of alternating gray, light ash, and black stripes.

Font and Colors

The logo uses not one but three typefaces. The word “Disney” is made in the cartoon style – in the form of the founder of the film studio’s signature. Square Enix is ​​geometrically shaped, but with slightly rounded corners. It is simple, chopped, from the Sans Serif family. The third inscription is “Kingdom Hearts.” The game’s name is made with individual symbols in a Gothic design – with spikes and sharp tops. The emblem’s color scheme consists of a combination of black, white, and several shades of gray.
