Merus Unveils New Logo and Brand Identity

Merus Logo New

The company Merus, formerly known as Al. Neyer unveiled an updated identity developed by the One Design studio. Over its 130-year history, the small construction firm has become a major national real estate player with an employee-owned structure. The rebranding emphasizes continuity with the company’s history and its contemporary ambitions.

The new name, Merus, created by the agency Lexicon Branding, combines “merit” and “us.” This reflects the collective nature of the work and high standards of quality. The update showcases expertise in development, architecture, and construction.

Merus Logo Evolution

The previous logo featured a hexagonal “N” symbol reminiscent of building elements. Its style had a corporate look with rigid graphics and a strict typeface, creating a formal image. The red-and-black palette reinforced the design’s conservative nature.

The new logo is executed differently, a stylized letter “M” formed from two geometric blocks. The updated design appears dynamic while maintaining a compositional structure. A softer typeface with rounded lines is used, enhancing readability.

Merus Symbol

An orange color was chosen instead of the previous black and red palette, giving the company’s image an energetic character. The color symbolizes innovation and dynamism while respecting the company’s longstanding traditions. The new typeface is rounded and balanced, creating a professional image.

The text portion of the logo uses a sans-serif typeface with subtle modifications. For example, the letter “R” has received a slightly curved shape, and “S” has been carefully adjusted to give the lettering a friendly appearance. The numerals “1894,” the year the company was founded, are discreetly integrated into the composition, reinforcing the historical connection to Merus.

Merus Logo Old

In addition to the logo, a grid-based design has been introduced, reflecting the company’s architectural focus. Grid lines are subtly incorporated into the visual style, enhancing the brand’s structural nature.

With the new name, logo, and overall visual concept, the company has preserved its respect for tradition while looking to the future. The refreshed identity has made the company recognizable and contemporary, highlighting its leadership in shaping urban environments.
