Mundo Chachapoyas has unveiled a new visual identity to promote the cultural and ecological treasures of the Utcubamba Corridor in Peru. Designed by Studioa, a Lima-based firm, the rebranding replaces the previous Aventúrate Chachapoyas branding with a more refined, historically inspired aesthetic. It aims to attract tourists to the rich cultural and historical significance of the ancient Chachapoya civilization, known as the “Warriors of the Clouds.”
The rebranding introduces a new name, moving from Aventúrate Chachapoyas (“Adventure to Chachapoyas”) to Mundo Chachapoyas (“Chachapoyas World”). This approach highlights the region’s cultural heritage and natural beauty, shifting from the playful style of the past to focus on history, tradition, and significance.
A standout feature of the new identity is the custom typeface, Chachánika, inspired by traditional Peruvian stonework and pottery. With heavy bases and angular shapes, the typeface reflects the rugged stone structures of the Chachapoya ruins. Lozenges, diamond-shaped elements integrated into the letters, reference the intricate stone patterns of the ruins, creating a cohesive design that modernizes the brand while paying homage to its historical roots.
The color palette is anchored by a deep forest green, symbolizing the region’s natural landmarks, with white typography providing contrast. The restrained use of color conveys a calm, inviting tone, positioning Mundo Chachapoyas as a destination for ecological and historical experiences.
The minimalist design makes the Chachánika typeface and lozenges stand out, offering a thoughtful take on tourism branding. The bold, geometric lettering and embedded patterns link the logo to the region’s storied past, while a modern sensibility makes it relevant to today’s audiences.
