Path of Exile is a free-to-play role-playing video game adapted for several popular platforms. It was released for Microsoft Windows in 2013, Xbox One in 2017, and PlayStation 4 in 2019. A macOS version is also available. The role-playing game is published by Grinding Gear Games from New Zealand. A group of specialists worked on the game: designer Chris Wilson; screenwriters Nick Jones, Edwin McRae, and Brian Weissman; artist Erik Olofsson; and programmer Jonathan Rogers.
As the authors conceived it, the video game includes several alternative modes, each available to gamers. The first is Standard. In it, the processes develop on their own, and defeated heroes are reborn in the city they last visited, but without their accumulated experience. The second is HC (Hardcore). In this case, characters are not revived in the same place as before; instead, they fall into the first mode. The third is SSF (Solo Self Found). Heroes in this league cannot trade with others or join groups; they can only create their own items.
Players complete quests and fight monsters to earn valuable equipment and points. From a bird’s-eye view, players control their character from a high vantage point. Players also explore dungeons, caves, and open areas. Players can also choose from available classes: Witch, Templar, Shadow, Scion, Ranger, Marauder, or Duelist. Each of them receives one of the basic characteristics: intelligence, agility, or strength.
Items are randomly generated. They have special sockets for gems and have special properties. In addition, these artifacts vary in value by rarity, so part of the game involves searching for items to find a more profitable sample. The same applies to gems in weapons, armor, and some rings.
Meaning and History
The RPG emblem reflects this and much more. It is made in the spirit of ancient magic and designed as an exotic attribute. The color scheme matches the magic spirit and the power of confronting dangerous enemies. The sign looks like both a seal and a decoration.
The logo is egg-shaped, with wings on the right and left sides. Next to them are miniature circles decorated with ornaments. They form recesses for precious stones. A thin line extends upward from them, forming an arch, on which there are three round plates with portraits of the supreme beings. Each has a bright gem on its forehead: blue (center), green (right), and red (left).

Black characters on such a substrate look intimidating, consistent with the concept of a role-playing video game.
Font and Colors
The developers chose a designer typeface for a unique logo. The logo is decorated in the style of rare antiquities as if it were a valuable historical artifact. Both “E” letters have pointed teeth at the ends. “X” looks like a forged tool, and the “I” is made of a huge metal nail.
The corporate palette includes dark colors: brown, crimson, and black. However, it also includes light colors such as milky, blue, green, gold, and copper.
