Serafino’s Restaurant: Brand overview

Serafino’s Restaurant opened in 1980 at 72 South Turnpike Road in Wallingford, Connecticut, and still operates there. The family-owned Italian restaurant was created around traditional Italian cuisine and a local dining atmosphere. From the beginning, the menu focused on classic dishes such as homemade cavatelli pasta, seafood, veal, fresh fish, steaks, and pizza.

Over the years, Serafino’s developed several signature dishes, including baked ziti and seafood risotto. The kitchen relied on fresh ingredients, with daily fish deliveries and handmade pasta preparation. The restaurant later expanded its format by adding a full bar, turning the venue into a place for evening dinners, drinks, and social gatherings.

With time, Serafino’s developed a catering and banquet service for different types of events. The restaurant began organizing family celebrations, private gatherings, and larger occasions with up to 200 guests. To manage this direction, the team added a dedicated coordinator, Eliza, who works with clients from the first request to the final details of an event.

Serafino’s operates in a competitive Connecticut Italian restaurant market alongside established names such as Carbone’s in Hartford and Bricco. Over more than four decades, the Wallingford restaurant built a local customer base, with some guests returning for several generations. Its history reflects the long-term work of a family restaurant serving Italian cuisine within one community.

Serafino's Restaurant Logo

Serafino’s in Waltham chose a simple, clear story for their logo: they took the classic letter “S” and placed it in the middle of a circle, then filled the background with the colors of the Italian flag. The result is colorful and fuss-free. The large “S” appears strict due to its dark color and curls, reminiscent of vintage signs from small cafés in Rome or Florence, where local chefs draw inspiration.

The circular background is divided into three colors: green, white, and red, briefly highlighting where the key menu ideas originate. The Italian theme of pasta, pizza, and other classic dishes is neatly blended with American traditions, which is evident in the logo’s typography.

The text “SERAFINO’S” is in a solid, strong serif typeface. The second line, “RESTAURANT & BAR,” is thinner and sans-serif, serving as a neat complement to the main name. Both are black.

The logo calmly conveys the restaurant’s atmosphere, mixing American straightforwardness with Italian classics. This blend makes Serafino’s a cozy spot where guests come for pasta, steak, or a nice drink.
