symmetric logo Logos and Brands
Symmetry, as a principle of logo design in which the left and right (or upper and lower) halves mirror each other, defines the “Symmetric Logo” section. The emblems of Volkswagen, Toyota, Chanel (intertwined Cs), Mitsubishi (three diamonds), and Target (concentric circles) are based on axial or radial symmetry. In heraldry, from which many corporate logos originated, symmetry is traditionally associated with order and harmony. A symmetrical structure simplifies reproducing a logo at any scale or orientation. The logos in this section demonstrate the principle of visual identity, where the mirrored balance of elements creates a sense of completeness and stability.
