YouSee, Denmark’s largest quadruple-play service provider, recently unveiled a refreshed brand identity that keeps it modern while maintaining its established look. The new design retains the brand’s core elements but introduces updates that reflect its focus on technology and forward-thinking services for its 994,000 users.
The updated logo features the brand name in a simple sans-serif wordmark, maintaining its lowercase format. The font, inspired by the modified Aeonik design by CoType Foundry, highlights clean lines with subtle design variations, particularly in the descender of the “y.” This slight curve adds character, while the other letters keep a straight, geometric look. This small design choice in the “y” adds a sense of fluidity and approachability to the logo, giving it a distinct yet professional look that fits with a modern audience.
Generous spacing between the letters enhances legibility across various scales, whether on digital platforms or large outdoor ads. The soft, rounded shapes of the letters, especially in the “o” and “e,” give the logo a friendly and approachable feel while keeping the brand’s tech focus front and center. This balance between professionalism and friendliness is key for the company as both a high-tech telecommunications provider and a customer-focused business.
Color plays a major role in the new identity. The logo appears in sharp white against a deep olive green background, which helps the brand stand out from competitors. This shift from more common neon green and black in the tech sector brings warmth and maturity, while the crisp white letters provide clarity and contrast. This updated palette sets the brand apart in a crowded market with a fresh, reliable visual identity.
Gradients are used in supporting visuals and applied across media and marketing materials to create a smooth transition between dark and light shades of green. This choice adds a dynamic feel, reflecting connectivity and constant progression, aligning with YouSee’s telecommunications provider role. The gradient gives the brand a sense of depth and draws attention to key information such as services and product features.
The updated identity emphasizes modular design elements. The logo and design system are created to work seamlessly across various platforms and formats, ensuring consistency whether the brand appears on mobile devices, websites, or billboards. This allows the company to maintain a strong visual presence while adapting to customer interactions. The design system supports various grids and layouts, providing flexibility while preserving the overall brand look.
Typography is another key element in the brand’s new look. Along with the modified Aeonik used in the logo, custom typefaces have been incorporated that combine calligraphic strokes with modern lines. This custom typography, named “youNik,” adds a human touch to the brand while maintaining clarity and professionalism. The smooth transitions between strokes mirror the movement of communication, resonating with the company’s mission to connect people through seamless technology.
These updates reflect YouSee’s goal of maintaining a customer-focused, technologically advanced brand as it grows and serves its users.
