YuBo: Brand overview

Yubo was founded in 2015 by Sacha Lazimi, Jérémie Auate, and Arthur Patora while they were still studying engineering at CentraleSupélec University in Paris, and was originally named “Yellow.” The trio envisioned a safe digital environment designed for teens and young adults to foster genuine connections and friendships.

Two years after its creation, the platform changed its name, adopting “Yubo” as its official brand. By the end of 2019, the platform’s popularity had skyrocketed, with a user base of 25 million people from around the globe, including the US, UK, Canada, Australia, and France.

To drive growth and innovation, Yubo raised over $59 million in various fundraising rounds, garnering the attention and support of prominent backers such as Idinvest Partners, Iris Capital, Alven, and Gaia Capital Partners.

2019 was a year of expansion for Yubo, as it opened offices in London and Jacksonville, Florida, expanding its global reach. When the calendar flipped to 2022, the number of Yubo users had grown to an impressive 60 million.

A cornerstone of Yubo’s ethos is its commitment to user safety, as evidenced by its partnership with regional support teams and security experts. Notably, Yubo allocates nearly a third of its funds to strengthening security mechanisms on the platform.
