When Agilent Technologies entered the market on July 28, 1999, after spinning off from the well-known Hewlett-Packard Corporation, the company established a bold and concise visual identity created by the team at Landor Associates. The new brand identity launched with Agilent’s operations and was part of its initial public offering.

A combination of simplicity and visual impact defines the Agilent Technologies brand. To the left of the company name is an unusual “star” symbol composed of bright blue dots of varying sizes. In the center are larger dots forming a circle from which eight rays radiate. Each ray gradually decreases in dot diameter, creating the illusion of glowing rays spreading out into space.

The company name is positioned on the right, rendered in clean, straight letters. A sans-serif font was used. Landor Associates selected the Univers font, setting a clean, professional tone for the entire brand. The text is black, contrasting with the symbol’s blue hue.
