Hololive Production is a Japanese agency founded by Motoaki Tanigo in 2016. It specializes in finding talent. Today, the brand brings together the most popular figures on the YouTube video streaming platform. It has about 50 participants who are aimed at various records on the Internet. It is one of the divisions of a large Japanese startup, Cover Corp, which Motoaki Tanigo also founded with the pseudonym “Yagoo,” who is also considered the father of VTubers. He started looking for talented bloggers for his project in 2017, and his idol was Hatsune Miku, performing under the pseudonym “Vocaloid.”

What is Hololive Production?

This is one of the largest associations of bloggers in the world, whose goal is to dominate the YouTube platform. The group continues to develop, attracting the attention of new representatives of the ” party ” of YouTubers actively.

The “VTubermania” trend itself originated in Japan in the early 2010s. However, this movement did not enjoy great popularity until 2016, when Kizuna AI was created. This organization was considered the first VTuber in history and therefore received great recognition from potential participants. That is why Hololive Production was born in 2016. From that moment on, the target audience was presented with two versions of the logo in pleasant and attractive colors. Visual brand recognition is at a high level among young and promising bloggers who are trying to draw attention to their person.

2017 – today

The parent project of Hololive Production, namely Cover Corp., appeared in 2016. Less than a year later, the agency represented was officially launched. In total, the 50 members of the association have more than 4.5 million subscribers on the YouTube platform and approximately 4 million on Bilibili.

The agency logo at this stage is represented by a word inscription and an emblem located on the left. The brand name is in blue and looks friendly. A classic sans-serif typeface was used, with thin lines and plenty of space between letters. Generally, the style of writing is traditional, except for the letter “V,” which has a slightly modified bottom line. If we talk about the emblem, then these are four triangles superimposed on each other: dark blue, light blue, white, and light blue. This sign should be associated with a video playback button.

2019 – today

In parallel with the original version of the logo, another version began to be used. In it, all elements were identical to the first logo, except for the additional inscription “production.” It is made in nondescript gray color using lowercase letters. It was also a classic sans-serif typeface, with letters slanted slightly to the right.

Interestingly, at this stage, the agency decided to work for the Western market. In 2021, the “Hololive Alternative” project was created, the main task of which was to create a new world where the band members had to promote various kinds of memes, thereby popularizing the group.

Overall, the logo looks soft, progressive, and friendly. Therefore, it is unlikely that a potential viewer of a video from Hololive Production will pass by.

It is also worth noting that in addition to the full logo, the company also uses a separate emblem in the form of triangles superimposed on top of each other. For example, it is used as an icon for the official website.
