Olympique de Marseille Unveils New Logo and Brand Identity

Olympique de Marseille Logo New

For “Olympique de Marseille,” the redesign touched the club’s most important element, the “OM” monogram. Since 1899, it has remained the team’s main mark alongside the motto “Droit au but.” Behind the brand stand Marseille, 9 French league titles, 10 French Cups, the 1993 “Champions League” victory, and “Stade Vélodrome,” where the club has played since 1937.

The new version moves further away from the previous “Art Nouveau” manner. Earlier, the “O” and “M” looked like an ornate monogram with curls. Now the letters are brought into a dense form, where the circle of the “O” and the lines of the “M” almost merge. The mark became bolder and simpler for merch, digital use, and international communication, while preserving the pair of letters that would otherwise make “OM” lose its historical link.

Olympique de Marseille Logo Evolution

The main idea of the mark is connected to Marseille. The letter “M” received a wave-like form, symbolizing the city’s water, wind, and fire. The geometry makes the monogram tougher, while the fluid transitions keep a southern temperament. The logo feels closer to a sports brand and works well in soccer, culture, and fashion.

The motto “Droit au but” remains part of the “OM” image. Through the mark, the club preserves the image of a team that heads toward the goal by the shortest route. Against the new monogram, the phrase serves as an anchor of tradition, as the mark has grown bolder and moved further from the old decorative style.

Olympique de Marseille Symbol

A typeface called “OM Marseille” was created for the identity. It continues the logo’s form. Dense geometric strokes, compact letters, and small serifs create a connection to the city, the sea, and a Mediterranean tone.

The updated “OM” symbol emphasizes a sharper, more flexible image. The club keeps the main accents, blue-and-white culture, the monogram, the motto, and Marseille pride. But the mark looks different, with less ornate detail and more force, scale, and readiness to compete on the global soccer stage.
