nuclear power plants Logos and Brands
Nuclear power plants, which generate about 10% of the world’s electricity, are included in the “Nuclear Power Plants” section. Nuclear power plant operators, including EDF (Électricité de France), with 56 reactors; Rosatom; Exelon (now Constellation Energy); and TEPCO, operate facilities in which a controlled nuclear fission chain reaction is converted into electricity. The logos in this section depict images of atoms, electrical discharges, and protective containment, while the brands mark infrastructure that requires decades of construction and licensing. After the accidents at the Chornobyl Nuclear Power Plant (1986) and Fukushima-1 (2011), the visual communication of operators shifted towards transparency and safety, and several countries reviewed their nuclear power programs.
