Vanuatu Logos and Brands
The Pacific island nation of Vanuatu, an archipelago of 83 volcanic islands, sets the context for this section. Located between Australia and Fiji, Vanuatu gained independence from joint Anglo-French rule in 1980. The republic’s coat of arms, featuring a Melanesian warrior and a boar’s tusk, appears on the emblems of state institutions and sports federations. Air Vanuatu, tourist offices, and the national rugby and cricket teams represent this country, which has a population of about 300,000. The logos in this section reflect the identity of one of the least known states in Oceania, where the traditional culture of the islanders coexists with the growing eco-tourism and diving industry.
