Altek: Brand overview

Altek, Inc. began in 1976 as a small company specializing in plastic injection molding and fabrication. It was founded by two innovative engineers, Al Marzetta and Leo Kauppila, who started the business in a modest garage named K&M Engineering & Tool, Inc. Despite early challenges and fierce competition, they quickly built customer trust by delivering personalized service and quality products. After Leo Kauppila departed, the company rebranded as Altek Machine & Molds, Inc., embracing advanced technologies and attracting diverse clients, including those from the automotive and consumer industries. Eventually simplifying its name to Altek, Inc., the business invested in automation and rigorous quality standards, solidifying its reputation. Growth required a move into a modern 140,000-square-foot manufacturing facility in Liberty Lake, Washington. Altek partnered with major aerospace corporations such as Boeing to expand into high-tech markets. The founder’s son, Mike Marzetta, took leadership, enhancing innovation and maintaining strict quality certifications, including ISO 9001 and AS9100. Today, Altek remains dedicated to precision manufacturing, reliably serving global medical, aerospace, and defense industries with highly specialized components.

Altek Logo

The ALTEK logo is all about technology and precision. The letters look strict and serious, as if carved from a piece of metal in a workshop—no curves or embellishments. Everything is straightforward and to the point.

The letter “A” stands out—it’s not simple, like usual, but unusual, sharp, and slanted, with a long leg extending to the left and downward, resembling an arrow pointing forward. The other letters are straight, strong, and geometric. The letter “L” has a shortened top horizontal line, making it look sharp, angular, and even slightly mechanical. The letter “T” looks like a symbol from technical blueprints—its top line is cut at an angle, and the vertical stroke goes straight down, like a pillar or support beam.

The letter “E” is also interesting—its horizontal bars don’t extend to the edge; they are cut at an angle, giving it an unusual, rigid, and technological appearance. The “K” has sharp, pointed angles that emphasize the industrial style of the entire logo.

The color choice is calm and confident—dark blue, almost black. Nothing flashy, but it looks solid and composed, like an engineer’s suit or serious technical equipment. Blue represents stability, professionalism, and reliability. The name hints at technology and innovation—a combination of “ALT” (alternative or high) and “TEK,” a shortened form of “technology.” This creates a modern and strong-sounding name that reflects a company involved in technical development or manufacturing.

The typeface is sans-serif, smooth, and strict—all of this creates a sense of confidence and durability. The overall look resembles fonts used in old industrial factories or the logos of technology brands.

That’s why ALTEK, with this emblem, is perceived as a company where everything is well-thought-out, everything works, and everything is precise and efficient. No unnecessary decoration, just reliability and a modern style.
