Aptos has undertaken a large-scale brand redesign, rethinking its visual identity and communication style. The blockchain platform, created by former Meta engineers and built on the Move language, tells the story of technology differently. Without the cold, futuristic clichés typical of the Web3 space, the brand style has become clearer and more accessible.
The identity refresh was developed by the Prague-based agency Ashfall. The previous Aptos logo was marked by strong visual tension. The black-and-white contrast of horizontal stripes and associations with data streams created an image resembling digital abstraction. There was a slight dissonance in the details. The lines almost came together to form the letter A, but never fully did. Overall, the mark resembled mature modernism with references to the aesthetics of the 1960s through the 1980s.
The brand’s former visual language relied on a set of standard crypto-industry devices. Dark backgrounds, neon accents, and a hacker interface atmosphere created a closed-off image. This kind of design was understandable only to a narrow circle of specialists. It was poorly suited to a broader audience and institutional partners, which Aptos is now focused on engaging.
The new symbol looks more cohesive and refined. The wavy lines are aligned and match, forming a clear abstract mark. The emblem stopped functioning as a hidden letter and became an independent image that conveys the idea of information and energy flow. The wave-like animation of the logo reinforces the brand’s core message. Supporting and developing meaningful ideas through digital infrastructure comes to the forefront.
The primary typeface of the updated style is the geometric Season Sans from Displaay Typefaces. Behind its apparent simplicity lies complex work with form. Elongated lowercase characters bring life to the text and soften the tone. Subtle curves in individual letters add warmth and individuality. The letter s is especially indicative, with its precise angles and natural proportions.
For technical and reference materials, the system includes the Akkurat Mono typeface. It conveys professionalism and reliability without a detached, dry technological tone.
Aptos is now regarded as a mature partner, offering developers powerful blockchain infrastructure that prioritizes security, performance, and usability. The redesign has shaped Aptos’s brand image as convincing to industry professionals and understandable to those unfamiliar with the technical details of blockchain.
