Canadian Industries Limited, or CIL, is updating its logo, marking a new chapter in the brand’s history. The Canadian paint and coatings manufacturer, with roots dating back to the 19th century, emphasizes its heritage, experience, and connection to the domestic market. For a company with such a history, the rebranding serves as a reminder of where the brand originated and what underpins its reputation.
CIL operates in the decorative and construction coatings segment and manufactures products under the DULUX, SICO, GLIDDEN, and BETONEL brands. The brand is known for home, apartment, and commercial products and remains a major player in the Canadian market, competing with international brands. Amid fierce competition, the company decided to emphasize the local origin of its products and its role as a national manufacturer.
The new logo retains the oval shape long associated with the CIL name, but presents it differently. The bright orange gloss has been replaced by a rich red color evoking a Canadian theme. Inside the oval, the letters C-I-L are arranged in a row, separated by short horizontal lines. The company’s founding date has been added along the bottom arc. This detail connects the brand’s current image with its long history and years of experience.
Compared to the previous version, the logo looks more refined and cohesive. The new look speaks to the brand’s reliability, its connection to Canada, and the trust the company has built over the years among customers, retailers, and the construction sector. Through its updated style, CIL aims to highlight a simple fact: the brand’s products are made in Canada and for the Canadian market.
Brandon Consultants worked on the new brand identity. The team’s task was to strengthen the brand’s Canadian image and make it more relatable to customers, partners, and employees. The new logo is already appearing on packaging. It will serve as the foundation for CIL’s future communications, where the main themes remain origin, experience, and loyalty to the home market.
