Equals Unveils New Logo and Brand Identity

Equals Logo New

Two coins stacked one above the other form the Equals symbol, the shared brand of Equals Money and Railsr. The companies merged in 2025 and unveiled their unified name and identity by London-based agency SomeOne on June 1, 2026. The new symbol resembles an equals sign, adding a money reference to the name.

Equals traces its history to 2007. The British platform handles international payments, foreign exchange, business accounts, and cards. It also provides infrastructure that allows other companies to embed financial services in their products. Following the merger, the business needed an identity that encompassed its full range of services.

The development process included research involving over 300 industry and business representatives. Clients wanted advanced technology infrastructure paired with personal service. Equals sought to combine the scale of a major provider with a team involved in clients’ everyday needs. SomeOne expressed this ambition as “Be the answer.” The agency worked alongside the internal team led by Senior Vice President of Marketing Justin Hannemann.

Equals Logo Evolution

The name provided the starting point for the symbol. In mathematical notation, “equals” expresses the relationship represented by two parallel lines. The new symbol preserves that connection, reshaping the lines into flattened ovals with rounded edges. “SomeOne” interprets them as a pair of coins. This image replaces the word “Money” as the logo’s reference to finance.

The previous logo featured a large yellow equals sign spanning the height of two lines of text. To its right, uppercase “EQUALS” sat above the smaller word “Money.” The rectangular bars had sharp corners and were larger than the lettering. The text used a sans-serif typeface in a dark blue-gray.

The name now appears in lowercase on a single line. It is larger relative to the symbol, with tighter letter spacing. The diagonal tail of the uppercase “Q” has given way to the lowercase “q” and its vertical descender. The double-story “a” has a curved terminal on the right, while the “l” consists of a straight vertical stroke. The two coins are scaled to the lettering, creating a compact horizontal arrangement. The symbol also appears on its own in apps and on social media.

ES Dokument by Extraset serves as the primary brand typeface. Xavier Erni of Neo Neo and Arthur Schwarz developed it between 2020 and 2022, drawing on early-20th-century German industrial sans-serif typefaces. Small curves and projecting terminals complement its geometric letterforms. SomeOne was intended to balance a friendly tone with professional reliability.

In the primary color version, raspberry-colored coins sit beside the white name on a dark plum background. The former mango yellow and dark blue were replaced with raspberry, plum, peach, and lime. The agency sought to distinguish Equals from financial brands that frequently use blue and gradients. The colors can be combined to suit different audiences and messages.

The coin motif extends into three-dimensional imagery and animation. A blurred image gradually comes into focus, illustrating the emergence of an answer to a complex problem. The public unveiling took place at Money20/20 in Amsterdam. The new identity is being introduced across digital services, customer emails, and bank cards. The equalsmoney.com domain, existing login methods, and core platform workflows remain in place.
