The Skypicker.com logo, introduced in 2011 with the startup’s founding in Brno, Czech Republic, reflected a young, customer-focused online flight booking service. The company’s founders, Oliver Dlouhý and Josef Képesi, chose a stylized bird-like mascot as the symbol of a flying character with large, expressive eyes and a cartoon-style design. This approach metaphorically conveyed the ideas of simplicity, lightness, and accessibility in air travel, aligning with the brand’s concept of creating unconventional flight itineraries through virtual interlining technology, which enables the combination of carriers that do not cooperate directly.

In addition to the mascot, the logo featured a typographic element reading “SKYPICKER,” set in a strict, simple typeface that contrasted with the mascot’s informal design, giving the mark a more confident, professional appearance. The forward-flying bird served as a metaphor for the startup’s growth, while its cartoonish form and rounded lines emphasized the brand’s focus on mass appeal and a user-friendly interface.

In April 2012, the brand was officially registered as SkyPicker.com s.r.o. The same year, the first virtual flight sale was conducted on the Budapest–Madrid–Lisbon route, confirming the business model’s functionality. In 2016, Skypicker rebranded to become Kiwi.com, introducing a new visual identity centered on updated typography. The brand abandoned the previous mascot and informal style, opting for a minimalist, concise, and technology-oriented aesthetic.

The “KIWI.COM” name is set in a monospaced sans-serif font with rounded stroke endings. The glyphs feature uniform line thickness, emphasizing the company’s modernity and reliability. The black lettering provides a strong contrast against the white background, improving readability and conveying a sense of digital precision.

A distinctive element of the design is the use of turquoise (Pantone 3275, CMYK 93,0,57,0) for the dot separating the words and for the open arc encircling “KIWI.” This arc symbolizes dynamism, trajectory, and take-off, creating a visual connection with the company’s innovative direction and digital interactions.
