Laboratory diagnostics and biological research include sample analysis, genetic screening, and the study of molecules in drug development. These processes require precise measurements and data processing, which underpin the research results. The Revvity logo is associated with a company that develops technologies and equipment for laboratories, medical, and pharmaceutical industries.

Revvity: Brand overview

Revvity traces its origins to PerkinElmer, founded on April 19, 1937, by Richard Perkin and Charles Elmer. The first orders concerned the production of precision optics. In 1941, the company opened a large manufacturing facility in Norwalk, Connecticut. During World War II, it produced sights, rangefinders, and optical systems for the U.S. Army. In 1942, it received a Navy award for manufacturing achievements.

In the postwar decades, PerkinElmer expanded its activities and began working with semiconductors, defense systems, and computer technology. In 1971, the company acquired METCO Inc. In 2011, it acquired Caliper Life Sciences, a biotechnology company. The deal, worth about $600 million, strengthened the company’s position in diagnostics and research. Quad Technologies was added in 2016. In 2021, the acquisition of Oxford Immunotec was completed, which enabled the development of immunological testing.

By the early 2020s, the company focused on diagnostics, scientific research, and environmental analysis. In August 2022, PerkinElmer announced the sale of several divisions to the investment group New Mountain Capital for $ 2.45 billion.

On May 9, 2023, Revvity, Inc. began operations. On May 16, its shares started trading under the ticker RVTY. About 11,000 employees joined Revvity, and revenue reached $3 billion. Prahlad Singh became CEO. The headquarters is located in Waltham, Massachusetts.

Revvity increased revenue by 1 percent and reported a 26.1 percent margin. The company is developing artificial intelligence-based solutions, including Signals One, Transcribe AI, and Phenologic AI. It collaborates with Profluent Bio to develop new enzymes. The forecast for 2026 indicates steady growth in revenue and profit.

Revvity Logo

Revvity emerged as the new name for part of the former PerkinElmer following the division of its business. The brand’s history is connected to PerkinElmer, founded by Richard Perkin and Charles Elmer on April 19, 1937. In 2023, PerkinElmer sold its Applied, Food, and Enterprise Services businesses to New Mountain Capital. Life Sciences and Diagnostics received a new name and continued as a publicly traded company.

The Revvity name was introduced on May 9, 2023. It combines “rev” from “revolutionize” and “vit” from the Latin word “vita,” meaning “life.” The name refers to life sciences and change in the biomedical field.

FutureBrand developed the identity. The logo is built around the revvity wordmark, with no separate symbol used in the system. The name appears in black lowercase letters. The sans-serif typeface features even stroke widths, rounded forms, and soft connections.

The double “v” creates the main emphasis within the word. The soft letterforms move the logo away from a cold laboratory image and bring it closer to life sciences, diagnostics, and living processes. The new name became the main marker separating Revvity from PerkinElmer.
