THC Design is a well-known California-based company producing high-quality marijuana grown in controlled indoor environments. The brand started its journey in the medical market and later transitioned into recreational use. In a short time, it established itself as a strong player in the cannabis industry, thanks to numerous proprietary strains with rare terpene profiles. The company strives to sell and educate consumers, explaining the nuances of various strains and cultivation methods.
When THC Design considered expansion beyond California, it became necessary to update its visual style, making it appealing nationwide. The rebranding touched all design elements, including the logo. Previously, the brand featured a molecule depicted with thin lines, resembling a dry scientific drawing. The new logo is executed differently – the molecule symbol became compact, and the lines acquired blurred edges, reminiscent of cannabis trichomes. This subtly conveys the feeling of relaxation and pleasant mental fuzziness after consuming the company’s products.
Previously, a calm purple tone prevailed; now, the focus is on deep red, complementing the primary purple and creating a bright, lively brand image. The typeface used is Dia Type Extended Bold – voluminous and confident, helping convey to consumers the seriousness and reliability of the producer.
With the new color system, the company successfully differentiated between products without losing the overall brand concept. The packaging looks appealing due to gradations of purple shades and bright red accents. One of the best examples is the light-purple plastic bags, looking fresh among standard packaging from other brands.
However, the brand went even further: packaging now clearly and conveniently displays all information, with images and graphics in a modern and simple “bento box” style. This design approach helped THC Design stand out prominently on shelves among numerous other producers.
