VinFast appeared in 2017 as the automotive division of Vietnam’s largest private conglomerate, Vingroup, founded by businessman Pham Nhat Vuong. Vuong, who began his career in Ukraine with Technocom (Mivina noodles), returned to Vietnam to create a brand that embodies national ambitions.
The first VinFast plant was built in just 21 months on Cat Hai Island near Haiphong City, with an investment of $1.5 billion. In 2018, at the Paris Motor Show, VinFast introduced the Lux A2.0 sedan and the Lux SA2.0 SUV, and received the “A Star is Born” award.
In 2021, the company transitioned to electric vehicles and began its international expansion. That same year, it introduced its first models, including the VF e34, VF 8, and VF 9. In 2023, VinFast started construction of a plant in North Carolina, USA, and later went public on the Nasdaq.
In 2024, VinFast began construction of a facility in India, pushing the launch timeline for the US plant to 2028. Today, the company produces several electric car models, buses, electric scooters, and bicycles, while also developing a dealership network in both the United States and Europe.

It is a Vietnamese automobile brand that produces electric vehicles and previously built cars based on foreign platforms. The company is expanding by opening production facilities in the US. A distinctive feature of the brand is its battery rental service, rather than purchase. Cars are sold with an extended warranty of up to ten years.
2017 – today
The VinFast automotive brand uses a stylized letter V in its logo, emphasizing its connection to its Vietnamese parent company, VinGroup. The name is divided into two parts, with the word “Fast” referring to the high speed and performance the brand claims in the automotive segment.
The main element is designed as a three-dimensional symbol consisting of a pair of chrome lines that smoothly connect at the lower point. The metallic texture of the mark is created by a gradient from light silver tones to dark gray, with soft reflections and highlights. The glossy surface recalls automotive chrome and is associated with modern manufacturing technologies.
Below this symbol is the company name set in large black letters. A concise, straightforward typeface is used, resembling Gotham Bold.
The combination of metal and black, along with a simple, dense typeface, creates a style rooted in the automotive industry and emphasizes the brand’s technological orientation.
