The Bahrain Rugby Club (BRC) has undergone a rebrand in collaboration with Interstate. The new identity combines respect for the club’s half-century history with a forward-looking vision. The symbol is based on the image of a dhow sailboat, reinterpreted through the aesthetics of Arabic calligraphy and Bahrain’s maritime traditions.
The sail shape has become more refined and precise, gaining relief. The symbol conveys journeys, unity, and community cohesion while preserving the connection to the country’s cultural heritage. Next to the symbol are the numbers “1971,” which reference the year the club was founded and emphasize the continuity of generations.
The color system has been updated. The primary red shade is complemented by green and gold, the historical colors of the original players’ uniforms. Their combination creates a sense of depth and connection to the past, forming a recognizable image filled with national motifs. The entire structure is built on a five-line grid borrowed from the BRC rugby kit, which provides order and visual rhythm.
The typography was created by hand and inspired by Arabic calligraphy. It highlights the club’s individuality and harmonizes with the symbol. The letterforms are designed with precision, helping establish clear, consistent communication.
The culture of the ancient Dilmun civilization inspires additional elements of the visual system. The symbols are used in club materials to reinforce the brand’s local character and foster a sense of connection to Bahrain’s heritage.
The updated style reflects the club’s vision of being a place where people from diverse professions and cultures come together. The slogan “Moments that unite us” conveys the spirit of friendship, participation, and genuine human connection that lies at the heart of the Bahrain Rugby Club’s philosophy.
