Philippine media company Cignal celebrated its 16th anniversary by taking a fresh look at itself. Instead of the familiar signal and satellite antenna waves, a completely new symbol emerged. The new identity reflects broader changes within the company’s business. It is no longer just a pay-TV provider, but a fully developed media ecosystem offering content in various formats across all screens.
The previous logo explicitly referenced satellite signals, which limited perceptions of the company solely to technology. The new symbol is intriguing and symbolic, featuring a subtle smile formed by the lower parts of the letters “g” and “i.” This logo has become emotional, suggesting connection and positive audience emotions. This subtle visual accent sets a friendly and open character for the brand, helping the company appear modern and approachable.
Cignal is actively developing digital services, with special attention given to the Cignal Play app, where viewers can watch original series, mini-dramas, and partner-produced content. Pilipinas Live is a sports app broadcasting NBA games and local leagues, offering fans new interactive opportunities. Pilipinas Live Shorts provides an engaging format of short stories about athletes, revealing behind-the-scenes moments of professional sports.
The company has maintained and enhanced its traditional satellite TV service while also successfully integrating IP and fiber optic capabilities in partnership with PLDT. It effectively blends traditional broadcasting formats with advanced digital services.
The new logo is part of a larger shift in Cignal’s approach to content creation and delivery. The company demonstrates how contemporary technology can be successfully combined with an emotional connection to the audience. With its refreshed style, the brand appears lively, flexible, and adaptable, confidently positioning itself on an international scale.
