Kalmar Energi Unveils New Logo and Brand Identity

Kalmar Energi Logo New

Kalmar Energi has refreshed its visual identity, connecting its history to its current stage of development. The energy provider in the Kalmar region of Sweden has been supplying residents with heat and electricity for over a century and a half, and the new brand identity was designed to make it clearer, more open, and closer to people.

Wilson Creative worked on the identity. The team’s task was to convey the company’s profile concisely, without unnecessary embellishments. The logo is based on a monogram of the letters K and E. Their combination forms a lightning bolt shape and directly references the brand’s field of activity: energy and electricity.

Kalmar Energi Logo Evolution

The previous logo, with its calligraphic lettering, had a weak connection to Kalmar Energi’s work and left a too-vague impression. Now the name is set in a sans-serif geometric typeface. The letter E in the inscription stands out with an unusual curve. It reinforces the theme of electricity and adds dynamism to the logo.

The color palette has also become richer. Dark blue in several shades takes center stage. It creates the impression of a reliable, open company free of outdated industry clichés.

The brief KE monogram serves as more than a single logo. It transforms into a standalone motif and is used in patterns. The rhythm of the lightning bolt enlivens the corporate identity and ensures the company’s image remains cohesive across various media, from vehicles and work uniforms to street signs and printed materials.

Kalmar Energi began rolling out the new style in February 2026. The update is intended to strengthen the company’s connection with the region’s residents and position it closer to the everyday lives of the audience it has served for over 160 years.
