La Vida Perfecta: Brand overview

Barcelona actress, writer, and director Leticia Dolera created Vida perfecta, and she previously directed the 2015 film Requisitos para ser una persona normal. Developed for Movistar+, the series was produced with Corte y Confección de Películas. Dolera wrote it with Manuel Burque and shared directing duties with Elena Martín, Ginesta Guindal, Lucía Alemany, and Irene Moray.

The project was first called Déjate llevar. After it was selected for CanneSeries, the English title Perfect Life led Dolera to rename the Spanish version Vida perfecta. At the festival in April 2019, it won the Grand Prix and a special acting award for Dolera, Aixa Villagrán, and Celia Freijeiro. It was later presented at the San Sebastián International Film Festival.

Movistar+ released all eight first-season episodes on October 18, 2019. The story followed María, Cristina, and Esther as their planned lives gave way to personal crises. On December 17, the platform renewed the series. It later won Best Comedy Series at the Feroz Awards. At the same time, Enric Auquer received acting honors from both Feroz and Ondas. HBO Max acquired international distribution rights.

The second and final season, consisting of six episodes, arrived on November 19, 2021. Set six months later, it continued the characters’ stories through motherhood, open relationships, and fear of commitment. The series ended after 14 episodes and later received MiM Series Awards for its screenplay and Auquer and Villagrán’s performances.

La Vida Perfecta Logo

The “La VIDA PERFECTA” logo is unusually designed and somewhat chaotic. The background sets a distinctive mood: dark green is not a typical choice for a comedy series, as lighter tones are usually preferred, but the creators took a different approach.

The main characters are depicted upside down, creating a sense of uncertainty for the viewer. The three women display different emotions: one looks surprised, another joyful, and the third slightly shocked. Their hair is flying in different directions, mirroring the series’ storyline, in which unexpected events upend the protagonists’ lives.

Another unusual element is the scattered red fragments. They resemble shards or broken pieces of something bright and beautiful. This visual suggests that the so-called “perfect life” is falling apart in the series, highlighting the instability or fragility of what the protagonists once took for granted.

The series title is placed at the bottom in large, bold, sans-serif letters in a warm beige color. This choice contrasts sharply with the deep green background. The simple and clear text, set against the overall chaos and the upside-down characters, creates an interesting contrast, hinting at how illusory the idea of a “perfect life” can be.

The show’s creator, Leticia Dolera, is known for addressing real-life topics with humor and lightness, unafraid to turn things upside down, and the logo perfectly aligns with the spirit of her work.
