The humanitarian organization Mercy Corps has announced that it will transition to the name Prosper Global starting in September 2026. The name change reflects a new focus in its work. The emphasis is no longer on crisis response, but on long-term support for communities under pressure from conflict, climate change, and economic instability.
Over more than 40 years, Mercy Corps has reached tens of millions of people worldwide. Over time, its activities have expanded beyond traditional humanitarian aid. The name Prosper Global marks a new phase. The focus is now on long-term prosperity and development, rather than temporary support. The rebranding process involved research with employees, partners, and donors from various regions. The team took into account cultural differences and how the name would be perceived in more than sixty linguistic contexts.
The visual identity combines a symbol and text. The symbol resembles an arrow pointing right with a heart-shaped attachment. The outline is soft, the corners are rounded, and the silhouette is seamless. The turquoise color separates the symbol from the name, bringing it to the forefront. Participation, support, and growth are united in a single image.
The text is positioned on the right and split into two lines: “prosper” and “global.” A sans-serif font with lowercase letters is used. The black color separates the name from the symbol. Compared to the previous version, the symbol and text are perceived separately, without the feeling of a heavy, unified block.
Chermayeff & Geismar & Haviv and Brand Federation developed the identity. The process involved interviews, staff and donor surveys, and consultations with representatives from various regions. The transition to the new name and new image will take place in stages, without interrupting programs or partnerships.
The new logo reflects the organization’s current stage of development. Through its form and color, it connects its humanitarian foundation with the themes of growth and the future. Prosper Global will carry out its work worldwide with precisely this focus.
