New York Road Runners Unveils New Logo and Brand Identity

New York Road Runners Logo New

New York Road Runners changed its visual style for the first time in 15 years, introducing an updated logo. Instead of the familiar image of a runner, new symbolism appeared, built from three orange elements. The mark does not depict a specific person or a sports attribute; it draws on the image of the Statue of Liberty’s torch.

The form is composed of tilted geometric shapes that coalesce into a single abstract mark. The text part of the logo was also updated. The organization now uses its full name, written in large uppercase letters across two lines, while the former initials are no longer used.

The primary colors became a deep dark blue and a bright orange, which are applied in navigation and marathon-related materials. The torch itself, as an element, is directly connected to New York symbolism and serves as a reference to the identity of the city’s famous marathon. Along with the visual changes, the organization introduced a new slogan, “Believe in Every Step”, replacing the previous “Run for Life”.

NYRR explains the image change as a desire to broaden how the organization is perceived. The brand is aimed not only at professional runners but also at a wider audience, emphasizing inclusivity and accessibility for people with different levels of training and race experience. The introduction of the updated look coincided with growing interest in running events and preparation for the anniversary marathon involving all five boroughs of New York City.

The public rollout of the new style will take place during the United Airlines NYC Half 2026, while the organization’s digital platforms are already using the updated logo. NYRR also plans a large-scale campaign over the following year to explain its work beyond the marathon and highlight the organization’s role in building healthy, strong urban communities.
