The Williams Formula One team is entering a new season to return to championship contention, and the first step has already been set. Starting in January 2026, the team will compete as the Atlassian Williams F1 Team and unveil an updated visual identity.
A reworked version of the legendary Forward W symbol is replacing the previous restrained mark. This mark first appeared in 1977, when the team was founded by Frank Williams, and adorned the cars that delivered nine Constructors’ Championship titles. The return of the Forward W underscores the connection to the team’s history and heritage, including past victories and iconic images.
Atlassian Williams F1 Team is operated by Dorilton Capital, with James Vowles serving as team principal. Recently, the team has achieved notable sporting results. In the 2025 season, Williams rose to fifth place in the Constructors’ Championship, secured a podium finish at the Baku round, and achieved its first-ever sprint race podium in Austin. In the upcoming season, the Williams cars will be driven by Carlos Sainz and Alex Albon.
The new name and refreshed identity show how Williams combines respect for past achievements with a focus on future success. Fans can experience the continuity of a legendary history while also being part of a new chapter for the team in the Formula One World Championship.
