Now.gg: Brand overview

Now.gg grew out of BlueStacks, founded in California in 2009 by Rosen Sharma, Jay Vaishnav and Suman Saraf. BlueStacks built software for running Android apps on Windows and macOS, publicly showing the technology in 2011 and leaving beta in 2014. By 2018, its App Player had passed one billion downloads, while game developers were asking for a browser-based alternative.

The idea gained momentum when Amazon began deploying ARM servers in 2018. BlueStacks developed a separate cloud stack and, in June 2021, launched Now.gg on nowCloud OS using Amazon Web Services infrastructure. Early partners included Plarium, Nexon, Perfect World, Scopely and Smilegate. BlueStacks X followed in September with one-click access to more than 200 mobile games.

In November 2021, the platform introduced cloud payments that allowed developers to retain up to 95 percent of revenue, contrasting with the commissions charged by Google Play and Apple App Store. Now.gg competed with services such as Shadow and Parsec, but focused on mobile titles delivered through browser links without installation.

The company introduced its Fungible Games concept in 2022 and received an investment from Megazonecloud in 2023. In March 2024, it reported 100 million registered users. It set a 5 percent fee for in-game transactions, with no fee for purchases through its web stores. At Gamescom in August 2024, Now.gg launched nowStore for Telegram, using nowSDK and TON payments to distribute mobile games and AI apps.

Now.gg Logo

The platform’s logo combines images and text, creating a cohesive and vibrant look. At the center of the composition is a winking, ball-shaped smiley face, as if inviting users to join the game. Behind it are lines representing its motion paths, rendered in shades of pink, green, and blue. These colors correspond to the basic RGB palette, directly linking the brand to digital screens and computer technology. The visual resembles a flower formed by intersecting lines, symbolizing the blend of growth, emotions, and modern technology.

The platform is a space where users can:

  • Develop and discover new things.
  • Experience joy and have positive emotions.
  • Learn and use modern digital technologies.

The smiley in the logo symbolizes artificial intelligence, which is actively involved in the platform’s operation. This makes Now.gg unique compared to other services, as it functions like a “live” robotic assistant. This AI selects suitable games, creates user interaction pages, and maintains a comfortable atmosphere on the portal.

Next to the image is bold text with the website address, emphasizing the brand’s core concept of playing without downloading games to a computer, ensuring instant and convenient access. The logo’s large, bold black letters symbolize the platform’s stability and reliability, which are crucial for users.

The service’s cloud technology allows access to favorite games on any device, including those with limited memory. The service also saves user progress, making it easy to return and continue playing from where it was left off.

The pink domain name, harmoniously echoing the lines of the “flower” in the logo, completes the overall image and adds a sense of unity and expressiveness to the Now.gg emblem.
