The Oklo Velo logo is associated with convenience and freedom of movement, combining cycling traditions with new opportunities. The company creates cargo bikes that become assistants in everyday life and work, from transporting children and shopping to carrying tools, offering an alternative to traditional transportation.

Oklo Velo: Brand overview

Oklö Cycles was founded after engineer Bruno Guittard decided to create a more practical cargo bike for everyday urban use. After years working in industrial companies, he began developing a bicycle that could replace short car trips and safely transport his two children. The first ideas appeared in late 2015, and the prototype was built in 2016.

In 2017, the project entered the Outdoor Sports Valley incubator in Annecy, France. On February 22, 2018, Scop Oklö Cycles was officially registered as a cooperative company founded by Bruno Guittard, Bertrand Casteu, and Bruno Cherrier, with an initial investment of €115,000. The company focused on local production, assembling bicycles in the Annecy area and working with suppliers from France, Italy, Germany, and Asia.

The first Origine range included models such as Familéö for families, Utiléö for daily transport, Missive for utility use, and Prokess for businesses and professionals. Oklö competed with cargo bike brands including Babboe and Yuba, but focused on compact models designed to remain close in size and handling to standard city bicycles.

Sales began in 2018, reaching around 140 bicycles in the first two years. In 2021, the company sold 150 units, followed by 236 in 2022. Oklö later expanded its range with the Évo series and Évo Longtail, while adding electric versions equipped with Bafang motors. The brand also supplied bicycles for public programs, including rental services in the Greater Annecy area.

Oklo Velo Logo

Oklo is a French company emphasizing practicality in urban cycling. The word “biclou” in its name is a casual French term for a bicycle. This sets a friendly and slightly informal tone for the entire composition.

The name is set in a soft, rounded typeface. Each letter is gently curved, with smooth lines, and the curves of the letter “k” add liveliness to the text. An interesting detail is the letter “ö,” an “O” with two dots above, resembling bicycle wheels or miniature lights, highlighting the cycling theme. However, it’s an “o” with a circumflex. The company name is centrally positioned, with the subtitle “biclou pratique” placed below in a thinner, more precise font to maintain balance.

At the bottom, two small, minimalistic strokes are placed neatly: blue on the left and red on the right, subtly hinting at France’s national colors and adding brightness to the otherwise restrained palette.

The text style is minimal, soft, and friendly. The primary color is a deep, dark gray shade that is neutral and easy on the eyes.
