The Czech festival Rock for People, held since 1995 and attracting tens of thousands of spectators, has unveiled a renewed identity created by the Studio Echt team. Over the years, the festival has hosted Muse, Slipknot, Green Day, Linkin Park, and many others. It now has a visual system that reflects its spirit and energy.
The old logo looked standard. A heavy typeface, strict structure, no emotion. It did not convey the atmosphere of a live music celebration. The new version changes that. The words “ROCK” and “FOR” are placed at an angle, and the difference in letter sizes gives the composition liveliness. The black stripes above and below resemble homemade posters, adding boldness to the logo.
The main idea behind the update is “rock therapy.” The festival is presented as a source of emotions and energy, a charge that lasts for a whole year. The design conveys loudness and freedom. Typography is the primary expressive tool. Band names are written in a dense, energetic, angular style. The red background enhances the effect. The Sharp Grotesk typeface adds a sense of power and tension typical of a live concert.
Additional elements, including icons, inscriptions, and symbols, form a unified system. Geometric shapes, T-shirt logos, and wristbands use a consistent style. At times, the compositions seem chaotic, but this slight disorder feels natural for the festival atmosphere.
The new Rock for People style conveys the character of a live, intense performance. It conveys the stage’s energy and the spirit of independence. The festival once again looks modern, maintaining its reputation as one of Europe’s most vibrant music events.
