Sam’s Club Unveils New Logo and Brand Identity

Sam's Club Logo New

Sam’s Club updated its logo with Turner Duckworth. The brand kept the diamond and introduced a new symbol that works as part of the name. The diamond now sits where the apostrophe appears in Sam’s. The name became tighter and looks like a unified storefront sign.

Sam’s Club was launched in 1983 as a division of Walmart and was named after Sam Walton. The club format is built around membership, bulk packaging, a focused assortment, warehouse-style merchandising, and low prices for members.

Sam's Club Logo Evolution

The previous version looked calm and generic. The diamond lived separately, the letters felt light, and the logo resembled a standard signature for a large retailer. For a chain with hundreds of clubs in the United States, a presence in Mexico and China, and tens of millions of members, the image needed a stronger sense of scale.

In the new version, the main Sam’s Club mark is built into the word. The diamond moved from a neighboring block into the name. At small sizes, it works as part of the name.

The letters became wider and heavier. They sit close together, almost like rows of goods on pallets inside Sam’s Club locations. In its new form, the logo is tied to how the chain operates. A lot of product, large volume, clear value, and minimal decorative treatment.

Sam's Club Symbol

The blue became richer. It maintains the connection to the previous image and gives the mark greater strength in digital environments and physical applications. The logo moved away from the role of a corporate service label and closer to the sign of a club where people come for value shopping and practical services.

A separate type system was developed for Sam’s Club services. It makes it easier to present areas such as fuel, cafe, and garage within a single system. The diamond form continues to work in small formats, including the “S” monogram, favicon, and avatars.

The redesign preserves Sam’s Club’s role in the market. The brand remains Walmart’s warehouse club, focused on membership, bulk purchases, and savings. The new logo brings all of that into one unified system.
